Ships are essential part of defense forces across the world. Even in ancient times, people knew the importance of a strong navy. The ancient greeks spared no expense in building a powerful fleet of armed vessels. Later, the Romans also followed the greek example to become a naval power. Fighting ships however did not evolve a lot until the age of sail. Today, there are fighting ships of all kinds even ships that can carry aircraft.
